Oct 5 Four States in One Day!

Wow! What a day! New York > Vermont > New Hempshire > Maine (2 days later did 7 states in a day! Can’t do that out West!

I’ve seen windmills in the middle of corn or bean fields but never on 3,000-4,000 foot mountains in the woods until today!

At one point in our drive today as we crossed a bridge, at the same time we were crossing the state line. So midway over the bridge the front tires were in New Hampshire and the rear tires still in Vermont!

Am writing this Oct 8 and have forgotten the details of the day as the long days of driving left me pretty tired at night without time to blog. It was more important to plan the route for the next day! Instead will make notes by pictures below.

Really hard to capture the color in pictures! Highly suggest a drive in late September early October in the U.P. Of Michigan, with drives through Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania.
At the top of this pass 4,000 feet we got out to take picture and the wind was blowing so hard when we open both doors our precious and trustworthy map of the Northeast went flying! Past the guard rail and started over the hill! I thru a heavy rock on it to stop it from blowing, then climbed under the guard rail to get it. Yes we have been using Google maps but many times we have wanted to adjust our route and needed the “old fashioned paper map”. So very glad we didn’t loose it!
Mad River Glenn ski slope.
Paul Bunyan statute in Bangor Maine. I thought it pretty funny cuz as we were there taking a picture there were 6 different groups that walked up to take their picture with Paul! He was a pretty popular guy that morning.
