March 12 - Comedy Jamboree

After breakfast this morning I took a drive down the “strip” before it got too crowded with people and cars! This 3 mile strip has shows, multiple go kart tracks, rollercoasters, multiple mini golf, helicopter rides, huge Godzilla, lined with motels, eateries, show theaters and shops.

Then back to the motel, put on my walking shoes and walk the 2 blocks to the historic district with go in and out of shops before it would be really busy! I had been told “I needed to be sure to go to Dick’s 5 and 10 store!” Oh my I have never seen so much “stuff”, all nicely arranged, nice items but the QUANTITY!!!! I saw two different girls about 7 years old with whom I think were with their grandmothers, oh my! I expect they were there for hours! I heard one wise grandmother say “let’s look at everything first, then decide!” Oh how I would have loved to take my great nieces! Well maybe I would have enjoyed it the first 20 minutes, but after an hour…hmmm…not so much! And I was there about 9:15 and already you were having to excuse yourself to get down the aisles! I can’t imagine what it would be like in a few hours or the afternoon!!!

Then back to the hotel for a couple hours as I was attending an afternoon performance Comedy Jamboree…my rating 4.5 (out of 10)…too much music not to my preference, comedy…ok. Was family friendly with quite a number of kids in attendance. I sat next to a dad and his 3 kids from Tennessee, they were on spring break, they left at intermission, I think the kids wanted to go swimming or one of their more active activities planned. I have enjoyed meeting people and hearing their stories but that should come as no surprise to anyone that knows me!

I’m behind in my steps so next stop was the Tanger Outlet Mall where I made stops at my favorite places, Talbots, Chico's and Christopher Banks. It was now 6:30 and I decided to drive down to the river  and walk the shops there mostly just “scouting” I’ll go back tomorrow. I can ride the jump on off trolley from the front door of the hotel. Today’s steps = 10,026 and counting!
