Original plan was to drive 4 hours to Tallahassee, got there by 1 and decided to keep driving…another 7 hours!
I drove through a diverse landscape today! Beginning with swamp lands, pine trees, cherry blossom trees already in bloom, farm land (already plowed) with a deep red color, wildflowers growing along the road, terrain that was flat and hilly; straight roads, curvy roads, lakes, very old southern homes!
Then it was time to research a place to stay! Boy was I surprised to learn the hotels were all booked! What? Apparently there are horse sales every weekend but add to that high school basketball tournaments = booked hotels! I got the last room at the Best Western Plus and was able book it for 4 nights. Tonight is quiet, tomorrow night maybe not so much!
Lovely conversation with Lynette at the front desk who was most helpful in chatting about things to do, places to eat, etc
