Day #3 Spokane with Anne Wilcox

Started the morning with a wonderful walk through Drumheller Springs Park, lovely visit with host Janet Miller and then I was off to spend the day with dear friend Anne Wilcox! Anne and I did not have to worry about if we would use our quota of words, we passed it early in our visit!  We had a delightful time sharing about recent retirements (though Anne's retirement took a twist and turn, and she will be returning part time to work at Whitworth University this next year), our families, our churches, our friends in common and so much more! We enjoyed my favorite kind of lunch...frozen yogurt with toppings!  Anne gave me my own personal tour of Whitworth which has been such a special family of blessing in Anne's life and career, including meeting some of her colleagues and friends. We enjoyed a lovely picnic supper out on the park-like grounds at Rockwood at Whitworth, a beautiful community Anne is enjoying now and in the future...only wish it was in Seattle! Ended the day returning to Janet's for more grand conversation and ending the evening with yet one more walk through the park, and yes, just before the end of my walk I spotted one more deer!  I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying retirement and my road trip and this was only STOP #1. Has been a great beginning! Tomorrow I head to Boise, taking the longer scenic route.
