Wow! What a day of seeing every kind of the Lord's wonderful creation! The Palouse countryside was amazing with the rolling hills, the colors of green, wheat, and brown, through the mountains with various shades of green, over 3 mountain passes with steep grades going down, winding along the Salmon River after McCall for miles! I'm just thankful I was driving and NOT riding with someone else driving...that would not have been fun.
- Today I...saw a fence made from old tractor wheels surrounding a farm house, had to turn around to take a picture! It looked pretty cool.
- ...saw someone drive a riding lawn mower down the sidewalk, pulling someone in a wheelchair (Riggins, Idaho)
- ...saw my two deer friends on my 6am morning walk in the park
- ...saw the White Bird Battlefield and learned about the Nez Perce War (look it up!)
- ...crossed into my 2nd state, Idaho!
- ...arrrived to stay with cousins Ed & Kim Aronson who are graciously willing to host me during my Boise stay. We enjoy a short walk by the river tonight and LOTS of conversation.
- Tomorrow and Friday will include very special lunches with childhood friends Betsy (Haight) Balch and Wendy (Anderson) Liming...will be A LOT of catching up to do!
Been a long day, need to head to bed...hoping the heat gets turned down the next couple of days, but probably won't!
Hi Karol, It's Roberta and Garth Wheeler. I finally caught up with you. I grew up playing a lot at my grandparent's farm in Post Falls, Idaho. You may have seen "Beck Road", 1st road after you cross West to East into Idaho. That's my grandparents and where my Dad and all his family of 12 brothers and sisters all grew up.
ReplyDeleteGarth, I didn't come across at that point, came down from Spokane on I-195/I-95. Would have been fun to see! Love the large family! Just like my dad! There were 9 siblings in his family.
DeleteGive my regards to Betsy! Haven't see her in years!!
