March 17 - Topeka with Steven and Amanda

What a special day! First, worship at First Presbyterian Church of Topeka, located directly across the street from the state capitol. Worship was such a blessing, but what made it extra special was being able to join Steven Laudan and his girlfriend Amanda Bowman. The day got even better as we enjoyed lunch together at the Iron Rail for lunch.  Yes, lunch was tasty, I had a beef brisket sandwich, Amanda tacos, Steven Mac ‘n cheese topped with BBQ pork but the BEST PART “the conversation, the sharing”! To catch up with Steven, his work, his worship, his life…and Amanda what a gem! She quickly learned how I love to ask questions, hear ones personal story and that I genuinely care. This indeed has been the highlight of my trip…being intentional in connecting with who the Lord opens the doors for me to see and share time. I’m honored to pray for Steven and Amanda individually and as they grow their relationship together. Both are amazing and I know God has special plans for his children.

After Topeka I drove to Lawrence and after successfully checking into the Hampton, I went out on an adventure to find Clint Lake and State Park. This was constructed by the Corp of Engineers 1972-1980. Beautiful day for a drive, sun was out but the air was cold! So a COLD walk, might have been longer had it been warmer!
